As we live through the effects of the ongoing pandemic in such disparate ways, we rightfully mourn how the virus has limited the possibilities for physical togetherness, intimacy and connection. We lament how the fraught intimacies enabled by digital networks fall short from the intimacy and liveliness of physical co-presence. Yet, ever since the pandemic began to impact and reshape our lives, numerous scholars, artists, curators and activists have put together online events that offer moments of beauty, solace and temporary respite from daily hardship. I prepared this curated selection of online events – mixed with pre-pandemic events also available online – to acknowledge and celebrate the labour of creators who expand the horizons of collective imagination under confinement. Because time is so out of joint these days, the playlist has no particular order.
