Blågårdsgade 29 A-E 2200 Copenhagen, Denmark
Join us for the launch of the themed issue on Archives that Matter. Infrastructures for Sharing Unshared Histories. This special issue of the Nordic Journal of Information Science and Cultural Mediation (NTIK) is dedicated to critical and aesthetic engagements with colonial archives in the wake of digitization.
Taking the digitization of the Danish colonial archives as a starting point, the issue brings together articles, essays and art projects that address the various materialities of the archival record, while pointing to the need to reimagine the material, political and affective infrastructures best suited to share digitized heritage.
The issue is edited by Daniela Agostinho, Katrine Dirckinck-Holmfeld and Karen Louise Søilen, with contributions by La Vaughn Belle, Tami Navarro, Hadiya Sewer and Tiphanie Yanique (the Virgin Islands Studies Collective), Jeannette Ehlers, Ayana Flewellen, Ethelene Whitmire, Lene Asp, Dorothy Amenuke, Marronage, and Hvid[me] Archive: Annarosa Krøyer Holm & Miriam Firesewra Haile.
